Garden Home Community Library (GHCL) is a member of the Washington County Cooperative Library (WCCLS) system.  The library is located inside the Tualatin Hills Parks & Recreation District’s Garden Home Recreation Center have been awarded the American Library Association “Star Library” rating for overall efficiency.

More than just books

Garden Home Community Library offers materials beyond books – for all ages. We also have movies, music, periodicals, video games, audiobooks, and e-books.  We also have two Roku devices, a digital camera, a birding kit, Cultural Passes, and a Kill-a-Watt (electricity usage monitor). We get daily deliveries every day, so if it’s in Washington County library, you can have it sent here.

GHCL ANNEX

Garden Home Community Library ANNEX (formerly Garden Home Community Store) hosts library programming. The Annex is also now available as a meeting room for local not-for-profit groups during library hours.

The ANNEX is equipped with WiFi, as well as a high definition projector with an 18-foot screen and surround sound. As this project advances, we will be adding additional equipment: one or more GoPro cameras, laptops for In-ANNEX use, a 3D printer, and all kinds of art supplies.

Cultural Pass to Adventure

The library has memberships to eight area attractions that can be reserved and checked out for a specific day.  The Cultural Pass allows free entry for a specified number of people to the attraction.  Available passes can be reserved online and you can print them from home.  Ask in the library or visit https://www.wccls.org/culturalpass for more details.

Programs for all ages

Garden Home Community Library hosts free programs for all ages.  Looking for something to do?  For adults there is a monthly trivia night, a board game night, a table top gaming day, two book groups, film screenings, author visits, a writer’s group, and more.

For children and families there are weekly story times (for babies, preschool and families), as well as craft events and monthly family movie days and other fun events. During the school year, reluctant readers can also sign up to read to Hannah, a 7-year-old golden retriever.  (Reservations are required.)

June 1  – Aug. 31  Summer Reading Programs for all ages

Sign up to read all summer and keep those grey cells in shape.  We’ll be kicking off our Summer Reading program on Weds., June 21 at the THPRD Community Night.

Play solo or as a team. Prizes for those with most and least points at the end of the night.

Weds., June 14 from 6-9 pm  Board Game Night
